CHARTER

 The ACT Kindred Organisations Committee Inc  (KOC) exists at the common will of its member Ex-Service Organisations (ESOs) to

· Provide an ACT ESO forum;

· Give a voice to all ESOs irrespective of size;

· Share information particularly on organisation aims, goals and future activities;

· Identify common issues;

· Pool ideas on solving common issues and problems;

· Act as a conduit to ACT Government or to DVA for matters of common local concern;

· Promote cross ESO awareness of each other’s ideas, activities, concerns and problems with a view to achieving best outcomes for all concerned.

Membership of the ACT KOC is voluntary.  Management of the KOC is based on a Committee drawn from volunteers from within the Membership of the ACT KOC. The ESOs providing the President and Secretary may send another delegate to attend the ACT KOC Inc if they wish.

The ACT KOC is a not for profit entity, however normal expenses require an annual voluntary contribution from member ESOs to assist with administrative running costs. Non-attendance at ACT KOC Inc meetings by any ESO’s representative will not deprive that ESO of “membership” provided the support above (annual administrative contribution) is made as requested.

Meeting agenda and minutes will be provided to all member ESO’s normally by e-mail

The meetings may include representatives from the ACT VAN office, VVCS and from ACT Government Departments.

Minutes of all meetings and correspondence arising from such minutes are maintained by the Secretary of the ACT KOC.

Each member ESO is to receive a copy of minutes.

Each member ESO is to receive a copy of correspondence which seeks a common solution to a common problem.

All outcomes are advised to each participant ESO.

The Secretary is the ACT KOC focal administrative position for all matters.

 The Chairperson and Secretary are the only authorised spokespersons for the ACT KOC Inc unless another delegate has been specifically designated (in or out of session) for this role.

 Out of session matters will normally be arranged and conducted by electronic or postal means.
